Afanasii Otcheredin was a Russian fur-trader operating in the Aleutian Islands between 1766 and 1770. He may have provided the inspiration for the pirate Ivan Ochotyn who features in Maurice Benyovszky's account of his escape from Kamchatka in 1771.…more
