After the trial was over, I wrote a book proposal and took a six-month leave to write it. It was so satisfying to be able to dig deep into a case (versus being so limited with short stories in the newspaper) that I quit the paper to pursue being an author full-time. My seventh book hit the NYT bestseller list, and I'm now about to release my 14th book. I love the freedom of picking the stories I want to investigate in depth. (less)

I used court documents in my research and also interviewed key players in the case. But I didn't write an entire book on the case. It's featured in a collection of 10 magazine-length true crime stories and this was one of them, in LOVE GONE WRONG. (less)

It's time for some cover reveals and book launch event dates!

In a previous post a few months back, I showed you the cover of HOOKED, my new upcoming thriller, which will launch my new "Katrina & Goode" series on Feb. 1. Caitlin Rother, Lost Girls

“from author and historian Washington Irving (1783–1859): There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief ... and unspeakable love.”
