I usually don't deal with writer's block as much as writer's procrastination. This usually revolves around plot developments that are difficult to write or maybe I just don't know where the story is supposed to go.

I'm not one of those, "Write every day or you're not a writer," types, and quite frankly, that kind of advice bugs me big time.

So what I would say is write what you love. Challenge yourself, take risks, and keep going.

I'd also add that some of the best advice I ever received about writing was to also be a good reader. Read a diverse selection of books from modern lit to classics to non-fiction to philosophy and become well rounded not only in terms of genre but even style.(less)
