The story, Adamson says, came to her in "a flash of an image", of a young woman dress…moreNo, she was not an actual person (although the Ridgerunner was). The story, Adamson says, came to her in "a flash of an image", of a young woman dressed in black, running. It was, at first, a poem. But then during the writing of the novel, the author decided she had to make the character more sympathetic and less negative.(less)
