The chapters are based on the points of view of Alice (the matriarch), her daughter Kathleen, Kathleen’s daughter (Alice’s granddaughter) Maggie and a daughter in law Ann Marie. So if you focus on the chapter names, that helps.

There are a lot of family members bounced around and the chapters feel a little long at times, but overall well worth hanging in there.

It comes together well at the end. I think I’ve read three of the author’s books (I read her most recent ones first) and enjoy her writing so much, I plan on reading the backlist.
