Why does it say "SAS in the Jungla"? Why is the M16 carbine used in 1952 when the Americans didn't get it until 1964? Why is the Claymore mine featured when it wasn't in use until 1960? Why is the 7.62mm SLR featured when the British Army didn't get it until 1957? Why does the first chapter mention "Chinese Malays" when they were Chinese or Chinese Malayans not Malays. Malays are a race, Chinese cannot be Malay.

In the Guerillas in the Jungle he writes that Dead-eye had been posted to the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. This regiment was formed 23rd April 1968. I know because I served in it. The Malayan Emergency was from 1948 to 1960. He purports to set the action in the early 1950s and then mentions a soldier listening to Elvis Presley singing about teddy bears. This song was released in 1957
I despise people who misuse honourable regiments and actions in this way because mugs who read it believe it is true. It ain't. Don't buy any of his rubbish.(less)

Is this written for civvies? Apart from numerous factual errors, the dialogue and behaviour within the SAS is embarrassingly juvenile and moronic. SAS are much, much more mature and self-disciplined whether on active service or when training than described. No NCO would speak to SAS troopers as described. It is described as fictional and it certainly is that!
