If it does it was very minimal. As for your other question: I don't know if you've read the first book (this is a sequel), but...kissing. One scene at night where Sera and Zen are sleeping together. This is in the 1600s where they are now living. (Not a spoiler, that's in the first few chapters of the book.) Zen alludes to sexual stuff that night and promises to "show her later," but nothing further happens in regards to that comment.
