Unanswered Questions (1)

Is "The Opposite of Fate" (2004) substantially different from the 2017 "Where the Past Begins"? (I'm catching up on unread books & it looks like I'm reading these out of chronological order. I hope the 2004 book isn't the "prequel" of the 2017 book I just finished.)
