But, if you know anything about Kurt Vonnegut, the author of this book, you'd know that he had no interest in religion. He identified as a secular humanist during his life, and tended to express a general disbelief in God — except maybe in very, very abstract terms.

I stumbled upon this book because I've been reading Vonnegut's adult fiction, and I was surprised to find he'd written a children's book. I was even more surprised to find out that this was the subject he chose for his only children's book. But, in public comments, he'd at times expressed a certain interest in Jesus, despite his unbelief. I haven't read the book, but I'm fairly confident Vonnegut would have treated the subject in a non-dogmatic way(less)
