I didn’t read Johnny be Good first and this book made sense anyway. Probs because the author recaps the events of the first book in this one anyhow whenever it’s relevant. I do plan to read the first book now but will say you’ll get lots of spoilers for the first book if you read the books in the same order I did, so don’t if you care about having lots of spoilers for the first book (even the smaller stuff from the first book is spoiled in the second book!)(less)
