Min has a minor role in the first book but is heavily present in the second and third. It's not like she had one line in one book and suddenly reappears in this one. This actually IS true of multiple characters from these books, at least three of whom re-appear in this book after being gone from the second or third. If you have trouble remembering a major character like Min, perhaps these books are not for you.(less)

Yes the women are strong and bossy in this book and make fun of men all the time, but I like this better, than women who are treated like trash or like they have nothing to say at all. I think Jordan wanted to diverse his world from the real world. So here the women play the stronger part and not men, as in our society a long time. Also I would suspect it comes with the history of the book, that men are often seen as dangerous because of the thread with saidin, so the gender-fight is naturally. But I don't think men were treated badly here, not at all. They are both equal.
I don't want to be political now...I am a women but I am no feminist at all, I don't think we need mor rights, just the same. And I don't think Jordan was a feminist or had any kind of problem, just someone who liked strong women/charakters.(less)
