I originally saw this as having 138 pages.. now here it says 247 pages. I sent a review that I thought paying 6 dollars for 138 pages was stealing.. so why am I seeing such a discrepancy ?

Add in a book club edition or two and you have a lot of conflict. UK printers often use smaller type faces and narrower margins, so the page counts come out lower on that account as well.(less)
