I ca…moreI don't think it's appropriate on grounds of sophistication. Sex is alluded to, violence happens but I think you could get away with the content. I can't quite remember but in the trilogy on the whole, I *seem* to remember a couple of f-bombs, don't quote me on that though. The main problem I think for 10-11s would be that they'd just get bored of it. The themes are a little too adult.(less)

This tripped me up a bit too.

In Expedition and Taino where some of the characters travel to in this book, cold mages are less powerful because they are further away from the ice at the poles and are called "fire banes" instead of cold mages because they can dampen/quench fire.

Fire mages have the opposite power of cold mages, controlling fire and heat instead of controlling ice and cold, and they seem to be more powerful in Expedition/Taino due to the tropical climate.(less)
