If you want original, authentic legend you're looking for Le Morte d'Arthur by Sir Thomas Mallory as it compiled the first widely published collected tales from Old French and English.
If you have no exposure to the mythology, I wouldn't start here.(less)

HELP! I am a bit of a "newb" when it comes to fantasy and certainly these stories. I have been a bit turned off of the genre with how EVERY book feels like its part of a series now. (Looking at you GOT and WOT). I have a GREAT interest in King Arthur/Merlin though. And Steinbeck. For those of you that had read this book, would it be a good "entry point" to these stories/fantasy as a genre? Or should I stay away?
