Do we ever find out precisely how Stephen finds himself back in funds? In The Commodore, we find that the Spanish authorities have learned of his activities in Peru and impounded his treasure; not to mention he has mislaid the receipt given him in Corunna. Then, in the YA, Diana, having pawned the Blue Peter, offers to lend him some money, whereupon he admits to being flush once more. Did I miss something?
