Anyone else somewhat surprised how much freedom the girls have, as in going exploring in new areas, going down the road to the store, etc? I like how the author encourages trust and responsibility, yet this is supposed to be set in the modern world and do parents actually feel comfortable letting their kids wander about so freely?
