It would have looked better for him if they had gone "missing, or, died of natural causes" in a cave in, rather than being murdered with a weapon with traceable evidence. It is a pattern from him, as the last Sheriff had died as an "accident" in a drug raid because of William, too. He is also known to be very knowledgeable about the area and the entrances to and from the caves. (less)
