In Jael's society (the one where theres a full on gender war), trans women exist solely for the purpose of sex objects for men who can't have "real women" (because the gender war obviously). Many of them are still referred to with male pronouns and male language. It's pretty disgusting. This is brought up later in the book, so you could feasibly read the first couple hundred pages. The author self identified as a radfem though so... be careful.(less)
