I got it cause I heard of The Lottery, which packs a punch in just 11 pages.

They are considered classics and is probably required reading somewhere. They make you stop and think. Some are racist and hard to read, the titles aren't always literal, and they aren't scary in the "traditional" sense like Stephen King. But unsettling and disturbing...a couple were somewhat humorous though.

I never read anything from this author but want to read more, like full length novels.(less)

I read "The Lottery" at a younger age and the story stay with me throughout my life in a good way. Some of the stories are too subtle for most audiences, but the majority of the stories are unique and well written. Pick the ones that will generate the most discussion.(less)
