This one looks interesting, but I always have to ask: Are there any significant not-evil female characters in this one? I know a villainess is heavily featured, but are there any halfway decent women?

None of them have been that…moreI'm only partly through the book, and many competent or likeable female characters have appeared or been mentioned so far. None of them have been that major. But this isn't one of those books where female characters are totally absent or else are characterized based on their sex.

As for being decent -- this is a book about the underworld, and the setting is pretty gritty and brutal in general. Almost every character featured in it is a criminal, and not the cute and cuddly kind of criminal. Almost all of the characters I've encountered so far have been pretty mean in general, including the protagonist.(less)
