It's what an author does with an idea which distinguishes one from the other. Titles also cannot be copyrighted, though trademarks are protected. I've also seen a similar 'idea' written as a sci-fi drama and don't read any fantasy story as there's often a savior or 'predicted hero,' usually starting out as a young person who finds tutors or protectors as he or she goes on a journey to save the realm/country/kingdom/planet or universe.
