The Country of Daughters values girls over boy…moreI hadn't really ever thought of a matriarchal society; however, I believe the people of Moso were that. The Country of Daughters values girls over boys and the women are in charge of the homes and properties and run the households. They also determine which if any, men they will take as lovers and in effect how many children they will have. It's a very unique and interesting culture and completely unlike any other I have studied.(less)
