I just bought this book because i found it pretty cheap in a used bookstore . I'm interested in philosophy in general but i haven't read any major works before . Do you think i should start with someone like Descrates or Kant or would it be ok to just jump in head first into Whitehead ?

Whitehead is an entirely different branch of philosophy - process philosophy. He's endlessly fascinating for those into this mode of thought, but this is anything but a light read. It might be a lot better to start with some traditional thought, like Descartes, Kant, or you may enjoy a summary of the ancient Greeks - the first western thinkers known to ask fundamental philosophical questions.(less)
