It is probably the best deep dive into many openings although you might something more in depth if you search for a course on a specific opening. Another thing is over time the book will become outdated as new theory is discovered, for example Ian Nepomniatchi (World rated #4) recently released a course on some new theory for the king's gambit and Modern chess openings probably won't have that info updated until the next edition. However that does not mean that studying the ideas of the older lines won't help because MCO goes so into depth it describes the ideas and goals behind each line it's always good to review even if it's not a opening you plan on playing so that you can get a deeper understanding of the reasons behind each move which will in turn make you better at playing with intuition and improving position during and after openings.(less)
