Is this related to the Avalon series? Wikipedia places it in the chronology, but I want to be sure.

Maggie No. It is a stand alone novel.

Is this a retelling of The Iliad?

George Depends on what you call a retelling. The blurb here is quite explicit; you should read it.

I’ve read this book as a pre-teen, but now as a grown-up I’m not sure if it’s suitable for my 14-years-old acting student, who’s preparing Cassandra’s monologue from The Women of Troy for her exam and wants to know more about the character. Opinions?
