How can this be numbered as book 6, while it is a prequel to the The Forrest House, which is book 2? I want to read it in the exact reading order, but it is quite a puzzle to determine which comes first......... So who knows the right order please?

The correct order is The Fall of Atlantis (a non-Avalon book that was later brought into continuity with the Avalon series), Ancestors of Avalon (a direct sequel to Atlantis that tells of the fleeing Atlanteans that settled in Avalon), Sword of Avalon, Ravens of Avalon (very little of Avalon itself in this one), The Forest House, a back-and-forth between the chapters of Lady of Avalon and Priestess of Avalon (they overlap), The Mists of Avalon (read the short story "The Heart of the Hill" from the "Out of Avalon" anthology when you get to the point in Mists when Morgaine is a young girl), and finally the short story "Lady of Avalon" in the "Return to Avalon" anthology.
