Why did the author repeatedly (at least 3 times) mention that Robert Kincaid wore orange suspenders? It didn't make a good mental picture for me, and sort of destroyed the male mystique going on ;)! And he seems to mention this fact pointedly but for no reason...!

If you had taken more interest in the film and book you would have learnt that both Robert's and Francesca's ashes were scattered near Roseman's Bridge...the bridge where Francesca left Robert the note asking him if he would like to come over later that day for a meal.(less)
