Overall I enjoyed this book. Lots of family dynamics and personal growth that I believe the author portrayed well. I'm not a parent but isn't it strange that the parents didn't check on Amy when they got home from their date night? Why was she only discovered missing in the morning?

Even with a babysitter, what parent wouldn't at least open the bedroom door to be sure their kid was sleeping? It seemed as though the author chose to ignore that basic behavior in order to facilitate the plot where Keith is under suspicion. If they HAD checked on Amy, then they would have either known that she was ok at least until they got home or would have raised the alarm hours sooner. Granted that Keith could still have come back and kidnapped Amy later that night, but it would be less likely, in my opinion.(less)
