Loved #5! Ok, fantasy readers, I need assistance! I'm a HP fan, grew up on the Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce, loved the Queen's Thief series, and more recently fell hard for The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. I love fantasy but find myself frustrated looking for "diamonds in the rough" in the fantasy genre, particularly because some YA gets predictable and cheesy. What should I read next!?

Has there been any mention of what sources inspired the stories of Immakuk and Ennikur (hope I spelled that correctly)? The style reminds me a lot of "The Kalevala". I looked at the only interview mentioned on Whalen's goodreads page, and checked her webpage as well with no results.
