There is a romance, but …morePersonally I think the summary is misleading...not in fact but just in tone, because this book really isn't like that at all. There is a romance, but the book certainly isn't just about that, and is quite tongue-in-cheek about 'typical' romance. Chime is beautiful, unconventional, and is more about Briony saving herself than saving the world. AND it has one of the best character voices I've ever read.

The review over at the Someday My Printz Will Come blog describes the book really well in my opinion, and the comparison to Daughter of Smoke and Bone on SLJ's Battle of the Books site discusses the romance (mild spoilers in the former, but I read the review before the book and it didn't impede my enjoyment).
