I wish someone had written a good summary of the book so I could find out what happens without reading the last 160 pages. I've already read 600, and I'm so sick of the ridiculous plot twists, unreal characters, overwritten prose, etc. etc. Someone please just tell me how it ends?

Chapter 33 (Not sure the page as I read in my Kindle) - After Andras receives the visas from Palestine. There is a sentence that reads: "Klein would make facsimile copies". Does anyone know when was the "facsimile" machine invented?? I doubt you could make copies back in early 1940's.

Caitlin Bancroft Facsimile means an exact reproduction, by whatever means. It is not necessarily our modern (now outdated) fax or photocopy.
