In what order should I be reading this saga? I found out it's very related to the Hawk And Fisher series, but should I read these first or later?

I read the first six of the Hawk & Fisher books before this (because I didn't know about the connection) then read this because I realised that the seventh Hawk & Fisher book returns the pair to the Forest Kingdom.
I actually enjoyed the, presumably accidental, foreshadowing in this book because of the order I read it, but both series work equally well as a standalone, at least to H&F7/Forest Kingdom4 when Hawk & Fisher return. I haven't got to that one yet - I'll probably read the first three of the Forest Kingdom books first because I'm vaguely obsessive!(less)
