This was the first written/published in the series, WHTMS comes next, and will make little sense if you don't read this one first.

So do read this one first, but this was published before the other one, so it isn't a prequel.(less)

Did anyone go back and reread this book after finding out about the ending? What was the significance of the idea of the box in the story?

As for the box, until you asked the question, it did not occur to me to think that it had any special significance. It could be that since she opened it, and without really even looking inside it, she was scared, that it was symbolizing that she was scared to know what had happened in her own life.(less)
