am i the only one who had a hard time getting through the book??? and is the second book any better???

Kayla (Strange & Unusual Book Club) I did finish, but simply because I had to know what was going on. I do not intend on reading the second book. It took me WAY to long to finish.

I thought Vera might have snuck into Whitefern …moreI think Sylvia caused them to fall down the stairs, but they were attacked by someone else afterwards. I thought Vera might have snuck into Whitefern to kill her mother, but it could also have been Damian. When Audrina fell down the stairs, Vera tried to attacked her but Sylvia started freaking out, and that's why she did not die. (less)

Anyone know if this is set in the 1980s? I know it came OUT in the '80s, and was curious if it was meant to take place in that era or sometime before. Thanks!
