When I first picked up the Seagull I had no idea I was going to find one of the greatest pieces of theatre ever written. It touched my heart. Chekhov manages to portray a society made of men who are alone yet terribly egocentric so that they won't listen to the others pain, though they'll desire to be listened too . So cruel , yet so accurate. I underlined so many parts of these brilliant dialogues ..
