The John Grimes books seem to span three series. Is there a particular order they need to be read in? Or are they more like an adventure of the week series that can be read in any order? Thanks.

Very early stories include both tales about young and old Grimes, disconnected. Later the middle years were spliced-in. (Far Traveler is the beginning of the splice between early young Grimes and middle young Grimes and while first printed in pieces was meant to be fixed-up as a book.)

Somewhere I made a "chronological Grimes" list from cadet to ex-commodore, but I can't find it now. It is not important; it certainly didn't matter when these were short-stories in magazines, we read them as they came out. (less)
