Hi, I noticed the complete set is not for sale for Kindle, and separate volumes two and three aren't either. The prices seem high. Is there a conflict between Amazon and Simon & Schuster? Also, are these books out of copyright? They seem to be freely downloadable from Archive.org in plain view. Thanks for any comments. Happy reading, jpp

Since the title says 'story of civilization', can we expect much of eastern history in these volumes too? Especially Indian?

I have only a smattering of exposure to the subject of the history of mankind. I am finding the first volume fascinating and engrossing. Here and there I have a little trouble with the vocabulary, but for the most part, they make things easy to understand; easier than most scholarly books on history I have looked at. It was written 81 years ago. Is the information still considered accurate and Relevant?

Hi all, I'd like to start reading this set. But considering how old it is, I am wondering: is there is a more up-to-date version by another author that maintains the quality but with any new discoveries or changes that may have occurred since then? Thanks for any info. :-)
