In my opinion, the only reason to read them in order would be to follow the historical context in which they have been written : from post WW1 to WW2, the cold war, and finally Watergate.
Small caveat : "And be a Villain", "The Second Confession" and "In the Best Families" are refered to as the "Zeck trilogy" (Nero Wolfe's nemesis). They might be more enjoyable to read in order. However, they do not have an impact on the other novels.(less)
