hangyas I was bothered by this too. My theory is that he has never really died on the tree, the cruciform healed him before his injuries became fatal. However…moreI was bothered by this too. Bill Jenkins He was the one pilgrim who became shunted to the machine. His role was a minor one: his brain cells used for the machine. He did help in the rebuilding of the city in the end however. By the way, his book did not create the Shrike.

In my opinion he was just thrown in to be a contrarian to the rest of the crowd. Every trek needs one.(less)
