I just picked up this book without knowing it's from a series (it's the 7th book in the series), will i be able to go through the book without feeling confused and missing important parts of the story from it's predecessors or should i just read the series from the start? And will it be worth it?

Steve I would say you could easily read it without reading books 1-6.
The first Rebus books I read were 13 & 16, but have found them a little more enjoyable…moreI would say you could easily read it without reading books 1-6.
