I read somewhere that Montgomery didn't want to write this book, and I found it sort of shows. Does anybody have any details as to why she ended up writing it? Every other Anne book feels filled with such love.

so i'm reading this and i think this is kinda misogynistic and vaguely racist. is anyone else getting these vibes??? it can't just be me, right????? it said that some little bioch named walter feared that some "big black man" would kidnap him, and the plot just seems bound for sexism. am i crazy???
