I'm getting that our protag (she pretty much admitted it in a sentence at end) that even though she survived her ordeal, a part of her was lost, was gone. But leaving it open for possible reconnecting with that lost part on the road in the future.

Either that or she succumbed and saw her spirit leave her body on a road to better places, leaving the bad behind. I choose to get that she lived and learned.(less)
