Is this really a work of fiction or autobiographical? The copyright page on the book(First Vintage eBooks Edition, May 2012) says : "This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents either are the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, events, or locales is entirely coincidental."

It is called fiction because, for legal purposes, some of the names had to be changed. Some of the events were also quite dangerous. He did not want anybody indexing and visiting places that were inspired by the book that could put the reader in any danger. The events in the book are completely accurate accounts of events that he experienced as a student and a curious worldly traveler. Sadly he has since passed away. He was a truly remarkable human being.(less)

Who was the famous actress that broke up his marriage? He describes being in the tabloids because he was dating a Hollywood actress, so she would have to have been somewhat well known. I can't find anything about it! Anybody know who the actress was?
