Read recently that Churchill was one of the most "overrated" figures of the 20th century as opposed to its greatest statesman. Any comments?

He had his flaws for sure but he was the right man, in the right place and the right time. He was a tremendous leader and one to be admired. I would think FDR or Kennedy were more overrated than Churchill. (less)

We incorporated a long prologue that gives a look at Churchill's life before 1940, addresses his habits, political changes of heart, family life, the idea being to give readers who are not familiar with Churchill a feeling for his life and times. I am not very familiar with the different of British Political parties when Winston Churchill was in politics. Do I need to learn about that before reading this book or does it explain why Churchill is in the party he is in?

Unanswered Questions (1)

Is anyone allowed to become as big as Winston Churchill anymore? Does anyone have any opportunity to have as varied a background and career as this man? From war correspondent to prisoner to First Lord of the Admiralty to Captain in the front lines of WW I to someone that inspired the tank? That, in itself, is beyond the careers of most men and that only gets us to 1918. Who cannot be in awe of Churchill?
