I was in love with Bradbury decades ago and am currently re-reading his work. Now that I'm old and jaded, I find many of his stories rather "precious" as if written for a young adult audience.I dunno, just not as mind-boggling as I once found them. Of course, most SF seems rather infantile when I try to delve into that genre again...was a HUGE SF fan as a kid and adolescent. Any adult SF suggestions? I've tried Atwood

Philip K. Dick is really good as well, he's a little bit more of a cerebral/psychedelic type sci-fi writer. He wrote the stories that became the films Blade Runner ( the novel is titled Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?), The Minority Report, Total Recall, etc. His stories are often much darker than anything Asimov or Bradbury ever wrote and there are often more adult themes. I hear Arthur C. Clarke is amazing but I've only read his 4 "Odyssey" books (2001, 2010, 2061 and 3001), the first of which was amazing, the second was okay and the last two were awful. (less)
