Another problem with this book. Mentions a paperback in someone`s house in 1924. Paperbacks didn`t arrive to the reading public until 1935. Did this woman do any homework at all in writing this book? Did the editors do their job?

Problems with this book? 1) Cites events occurred in 1931 while Hitler was in power. He didn´t become Chancellor untill 1933 and Fuehrer in 1934. 2) Georgina has the guts to don masculine military attire and go to the front lines but it took her three appointments to brave initial contact with Maisie. Poor character consistency. 3) give me a break. A Bohemian father takes strong umbrage to his son´s "pecadillos"

#2. I find nothing inconsistent--especially if you take the time to read about how Georgina didn't and then did find gumption to write during the course of the novel. Which I did, despite being less than fascinated. Different situations with very different motivations.

#3. Piers wasn't concerned about anything he would call pecadillos, but his son's revealing a shameful (no matter what perspective viewed from, shameful) occurrence in the war. And he's never shown as Bohemian to the point of insanity.

Verdict: No, these are not problems with this book.(less)
