Was watching an episode of Mystery Woman and a customer asks her store manager about this book. The manager describes it as a book about a timid detective who overcomes his fears to succeed. Would you call this accurate?

This book is a hippie-ish mystic journey type of thing, taking place in a bucolic utopian version of America. If you enjoy poetic wordplay a la Brautigan, you might enjoy this one. (less)
