I'm looking to read my first Ken Follett book and I'm torn between Fall of Giants and Pillars of the Earth. Any suggestions on which one I should read first? I know they're both series-openers and completely different, but I'll gladly take any advice from people who are familiar with his work!
Mary Jeanne By now you have read one I am sure. I hope it was PIllars of The Earth. It was head and shoulders above the others in my opinion.

Spoilers please! I decided to stop reading this book because it has too many explicit sex scenes that I had to skip (not judging anyone for reading them, btw, just a personal choice), but the characters were really compelling and I would like to know what happens to them. I can't find a decent summary that's not behind a pay wall. Would someone mind summarizing what happens to each character for me? P&TY!

Loved this series, does anybody know similar books set around the same time period?
Myriam I read another Ken Follet set around WWI background, ‘the man from st. Petersburg, but not such a richly interwoven saga.

I'm 20 pages away from finishing the book but I have a burning question. Did Fitz really name his son Boy? Like, the noun? Like, a male child? Who names their son Boy? Was this a proper name back then? I thought it was akin to him saying "the boy" because maybe that's how they referred to their children back then, but it's written with a capital B and everything, and it doesn't seem like they'll call him anything else
Nahla Aboushadi I believe they named him George but called him Boy. I don’t know why.
