My question is what is the theme of the story supposed to be? That's the only thing about the book I can't figure out

Connie This is a series. This book is the last one of the series that was published before her death in 2013. The Cat Who books center on the life of former …moreThis is a series. This book is the last one of the series that was published before her death in 2013. The Cat Who books center on the life of former newspaper reporter, James Qwilleran, and his two Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum, in the fictitious small town of Pickax located in Moose County "400 miles north of everywhere." Never stated in the books but the location is Michigan were she lived.

I'd say if you started with this book you would be confused because so many of her characters are introduced in the other books. The main characters are Qwill, the cats, Polly, and Arch. I've enjoyed this series and am sad there will not be more but I have to say that the last few haven't been quite as good. (less)
