However, agreeing with the previous comment, the book could likely be read with younger readers given their interest in the subject matter. Nevertheless, it is to be noted that certain ballet-specific vocabulary might have to be explained with children who are not as invested in the sport or may find themselves learning English as a second language. With the author being Puerto Rican, and her experiencing ballet in the United States, tutored by Russian dancers, a multitude of expressions from different languages are peppered into the narration.(less)
